The Institute of American Music is an online publisher of traditional music with method and tunes books for violin, fiddle, viola, cello, bass, piano, guitar, mandolin, and banjo. For the classical string player or teacher, you'll find "fiddle tune" arrangements for violin duo, violin trio, string quartet, string orchestra, and tune books with old-time fiddle tunes from the U.S. and the British Isles.
I have served as Director of the Folk Music Ensemble program at Brigham Young University for 20 years. I have authored several music books during that time. I own a publishing company and a non-profit corporation. I play music with my family (my wife, 3 kids, and myself). I recorded more than 10 albums of hymns and other sacred melodies using acoustic instruments such as: guitar, mandolin, banjo, piano, fiddle/violin, dulcimer, bass, and many stringed, woodwind, and brass instruments. I don't play all of these instruments, but I do play most of those listed first. I love traditional American music, traditional music from the British Isles, and folk-influenced pop, jazz, and classical music.
